Flag of Iran Iran is a medium country in the Middle East. Iran is bordered to the west by Flag of Iraq Iraq and Flag of Turkey Turkey, to the north by the Flag of Soviet Union Soviet Union and to the east by Flag of Afghanistan Afghanistan and Flag of British Raj British Raj. In 1936, Iran starts as a minor Non-Aligned nation with a small industry, a small army and 2 research slots.

Historical background[edit | edit source]

During World War I, there was an invasion by the Russian Empire (Flag of Soviet Union Soviet Union) who were supported by the Flag of United Kingdom United Kingdom as well as by their old rivals the Ottomans (Flag of Turkey Turkey) who were supported by the Flag of German Reich German Reich.

After the October Revolution, the Soviet Union tried to establish a puppet government in northern Iran, similar to Flag of Mongolia Mongolia and Flag of Sinkiang Sinkiang like the "Soviet Republic of Gilan" or after WWII the "Azerbaijan People's Government" and the "Republic of Mahabad". In 1921 there was a reaction to the growing influence of the coup with the support of the UK, which eventually led to the change to the Pahlavi Dynasty.

Although Iran declared itself neutral at the beginning of the war, there was sympathy for the Axis powers, but because of its strategic importance after the beginning of the war between the Soviet Union and Germany, the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran occurred in 1941.

Strategies and guides[edit | edit source]

Strategy The below is one of many player suggested strategies for Iran. Bear in mind, due to the dynamic nature of the game, it may unfold differently for other players.

As Iran the first thing you want to do is begin justifying on Iraq so you can get more resources for when you reform the Persian Empire. Once you take out Iraq you can turn your focus onto Afganistan and take them over too. Now from here on out you will need to declare war on France and Britain so prepare your forces on the borders of their colonies and attack them. You will need Syria, Jordan, and Pakistan in order to do this. After you've preferably peaced out the European Powers you can go and invade Turkey. They shouldn't pose much of a threat to you at this point as your army should be large. Once you've taken Turkey you can take Greece if you feel like it but now you've basically reformed the Persian Empire! You are probably a great power by now so taking over the world should be easy from here.

If you don't feel lucky and want to play it safe, the best option will be to become communist and join the Soviet Union as soon as possible, since you share borders with it, enjoying its protection will guarantee your survival, if you have time, try to take Iraq for it's manpower and resources once you have joined the Comintern, it will be easier with Soviet help, still try to take Afghanistan if you still have time, make sure you help as much as possible in the soviet wars to get military experience and improve your units, at the same time focus on the navy so you can defend the Persian gulf and fortify the border with the British Raj since the UK has approaches to declare war on Iran and will most likely call the Raj to war since they share a border .
