Block[edit]

Apologies for the block by the abuse filter. We're moving you into a group where that won't happen anymore. Sorry for any inconvenience. Dauth (talk) 10:43, 24 November 2017 (CET)

We've also restored the edit that got filtered: Romanian national focus tree. ~ Meneth (talk) 10:48, 24 November 2017 (CET)
You're now in that group for real; I must've messed up adding you to it last time, sorry. ~ Meneth (talk) 13:38, 28 November 2017 (CET)

Navbox[edit]

Nice work with the navbox. Many thanks, Dauth (talk) 22:11, 4 June 2018 (CEST)

You're welcome AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 23:34, 5 June 2018 (CEST)

Achievements[edit]

Good work on the achievements. I think some of the longer guides would be better on their own pages. A rule of thumb would be, if its more than 10 lines on a 1920*1080 screen then it can probably be on its own page. You know more about the content than I do, do you want to take the lead on moving guides? Dauth (talk) 11:51, 3 March 2019 (CET)

I could do it. I have several questions though. How would an achievement guide page look? Is there a template or example I could follow? Do I copy and paste the guides currently in the page (not including the parts that are out of date)? There might not be enough content on the new page if it was done like that though. Some achievements require the player to go through a certain branch or do a precise thing "set up your army along the Portuguese colonial border in Africa and give orders for an attack" for example. This seems to contradict rule 5 of the writing style. How would I edit that?AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 06:05, 4 March 2019 (CET)
I just copied the {{Achievement infobox}} form EU4 wiki and adapt it (on the fly) for the use here. It displays the requirements in an short infobox on the right side. – Lillebror (talk) 09:16, 4 March 2019 (CET)
Lillebror has kindly set up the template for us. Beyond that I'd use the name of the achievement for the page itself. You can use EU4 as an example of achievements on the wikis. Here is an example. As for rule #5, HOI4 has a constrained time frame in comparison to the other games and achievements are a lot more Do X and get Y. I think its a price I'm willing to pay to make the main page tidier. If you wanted to make them easier to read by rebuilding into prose, such as Be ready to attack the Portuguese colonial holdings. which doesn't mention the border and leaves the approach to the discretion of the player, then that works too. If the achievement requires a specific branch then its a requirement and is listed. I hope this answers everything. Dauth (talk) 14:16, 4 March 2019 (CET)
I have transfered the information for Panda-monium, I Swear I'm Not a Byzantophile, My Ships Don't Lie, Sunrise Invasion and Our Other Place in the Sun. How are these? Are there anything else I should add into these pages? How do you want it to be placed in the achievement page? Many of the achievement guides may be outdated and may not work in the current patch of the game. How should I deal with them? Should I put a version number in relation to the last time it has been tested? Some achievements, I don't think, need a lengthy guide. For example, Make a Man Out Of You for example requires more than 1 million manpower training. It does not have a straight forward way to do it like other achievements and is basically an expand everywhere until the country is big enough. The guide would basically overlap with the Battlecry achievement because of that. AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 11:58, 6 March 2019 (CET)
They all look good to me. In the achievements page you can delete all but the briefest description and instead turn the link on. If you want you can add a link saying see dedicated strategy guide. Leave them versioned for the latest version you think they're suitable with. If they're very outdated then we'll update/remove them later. For the more general guides you can leave a simple set of instructions and not spend any time on dedicated pages, the other option is to translcude the guide and state, This achievement pairs well with X. Does that make sense? Dauth (talk) 20:20, 6 March 2019 (CET)
Yes that makes sense. thanks. AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 00:24, 7 March 2019 (CET)
I have shortened all of the achievement notes to 10 lines or fewer and transfered the longer guides to their own page. AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 03:54, 28 March 2019 (CET)

(Unindent) That is vastly improved. Thanks for the work. Do you want to add them to the navbox too? Should make the longer guides more accessible to readers. Dauth (talk) 12:10, 28 March 2019 (CET)

I can do that. Is there a template I can follow? AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 13:30, 28 March 2019 (CET)
You can add them to this {{AchievementNavbox}}. Separated by a dot is usual as we've done on EU4. Dauth (talk) 14:10, 28 March 2019 (CET)

US national focus tree[edit]

Thank you very much for redoing the US NF tree. I read the wiki while away from the game a lot and being able to see the whole tree without needing to load up the game is a massive deal for me. 157.52.108.39 11:47, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

You're welcome! It takes me about a week to do an entire tree so it makes me happy that someone uses them. AkatsukiEmpire (talk) 23:12, 20 April 2019 (UTC)

Half-op status[edit]

Hi,

Given your work on the HoI4 wiki, I and the rest of the moderation team were wondering if you would like to join the moderation team as a half-op.

This would bring you into our moderator chat where much of the overall direction of the Paradox wikis is decided, and give you access to some tools to deal with vandalism and the like.

If you're interested in joining please PM me via the forums or respond here. I'll need an email address to send an invite to the moderator chat. If the preferred email is not the same as the one used for the PDX account you can use "email this user" on my user page to avoid having to put it in public anywhere. Have a nice week ;) ~ SolSys (talk) 20:01, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
