Can you help with this?[edit]

This user is vandalizing the Cold War: Iron Curtain page His IP is this: 138.197.159.176 --82.45.159.116 11:43, 11 April 2018 (CEST)

I have semi-protected the page. From now on only registered users will be allowed to edit the page. This will stop the vandalism. Thanks Dauth (talk) 17:08, 11 April 2018 (CEST)
Okay, I will make an account when I need to --82.45.159.116 11:52, 12 April 2018 (CEST)
I've spoken to the mod team here apparently this is a fan built page. I strongly suggest co-ordinating with them, otherwise we'll have to delete the page. Thanks. Dauth (talk) 11:54, 12 April 2018 (CEST)
Oh, I am on an IP right now, but I am a developer of the mod--82.45.159.116 15:29, 12 April 2018 (CEST)

I think I have done something wrong to the division modding page. Can you help with the creation of it? 82.45.159.116

I have done. The use of html is not ideal so I've removed the line breaks. Also the code tags are sometimes buggy, hence I switched to the preview tags which work better. Dauth (talk) 10:01, 13 April 2018 (CEST)

Strategy Guides[edit]

Can you explain to me how a 'proper' guide looks like? I have seen countless guides get deleted even when they have good strategies and follow guidelines, the only one i saw that stays up even to this day is the one for the Netherlands. Which is a shame as there were many unique ones that i wasn't able to find anywhere else. Pretty much all the others were deleted and the newer ones get deleted a short time after they are written even when they are made 'correctly' according to the rules.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.184.83.75 (talk) 18:02, 14 August 2018‎ (CET)

The guides are deleted for not following style guidelines. These are linked to on the main page of the wiki and the specific country style guide is also present. Also all deleted guides are available in the history of the pages (best viewed on desktop) and corrected versions are welcomed. The German Reich guide was removed for not following the style guide in the following manners:
  1. Prescriptive instructions: Make more generic
  2. Excessive use of bold/capitals: Use italics instead for emphasis, if emphasis is not needed then remove
  3. List: Reformat into prose (a listed ideas section is acceptable)
  4. Absence of links: Links missing or replaced by bold or italics which do not function
  5. Poor sectioning: Article should be broken up into easy to understand sections - in particular it had level 2 headers which promoted part of the strategy guide above the strategy section
  6. First person comments about the author of the strategy guide
If you wish to join the wiki and put together a draft of this guide on a userpage then you are more than welcome to do so. I hope this gives a more detailed explanation. Dauth (talk) 10:37, 15 August 2018 (CEST)
Thank you for your time, now i understand why my and the other person's guides where wrong. I will not try to re-write it as i believe the guide has to 'prescriptive' for the strategy to work. (For example: Build a lot of fighters and close air support and have at least 96 divisions and put them all in eastern poland, wait until the soviets run out of eqquippement at about 1.2m casualties. For the strategy to work i found in all my campaigns that this has to be done excatly like written in the guide as without planes and less than 4 armies i wasn't able to win defensive battles and i lost on offense if i attacked immidiatly or before the casualtis reached a million or more. As for the Invasion of Britain section i found that without Italy to distract the navy they would sink all my invasions and when Italy was in the war going through the channel wasn't successfull most of the time but the north sea route was almost always.) Since this isn't accepted i see no point in writting it again or strategies for other countries as, again, they would go into very specific details and actions no matter what. Furthermore considering how frequently the game is updated if a major DLC or patch come out like Waking the Tiger (DLC and the patch that came with it changed almost everything and made many earlier strategies outdated.) whatever i or anyone else writes will probably become obsolete.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.184.83.75 (talk) 02:34, 16 August 2018‎‎ (CET)
You can be general with the advice listed. For example, "hold eastern Poland until the Soviets run out of equipment", this gives the reader leeway into how they approach the situation. Guides can be a couple of versions out of date without being removed, as long as they follow the style guide. A lot of the ones we've removed are however from the release of the game. We also have to operate on the basis of all DLC and the newest patch for the content, otherwise the wiki gets fractured beyond usefulness. Dauth (talk) 18:18, 16 August 2018 (CEST)

Adding article on modding navbox[edit]

Hey ! You've asked me to link my article on the On actions to the modding section, but I'm not entitled to edit the Modding navbox. Is it possible to do it for me ? Thanks, Nelfe.

I did, its in the other section. Do you want it moved? Dauth (talk) 14:40, 16 October 2018 (CEST)
Yes, in the Documentation section. Thanks a lot !
No problem. Have moved it now. Dauth (talk) 10:57, 17 October 2018 (CEST)
