The
Chita Republic, or just Russian Far East, is a releasable state of the
Soviet Union located at the easternmost point of Siberia. It borders the other releasables like
Vladivostok Independent Republic,
Republic of Buryatia,
Sakha Republic,
Chukotka Republic, and independent nations like
Russian Soviet Socialist Republic,
Japan,
Manchukuo and
Mongolia. It may only be manually released by the Soviets if they complete Autonomous Soviet Republics focus. Otherwise, it can only be released by other nations, or through the Soviet Union Fragmented game rule. Far Eastern Republic holds 10 core states, and has cores on
Vladivostok Independent Republic.
The Far Eastern Republic was established in the later stages of the Russian Civil War. During the Civil War local authorities generally controlled the towns and cities of the Russian Far East, cooperating to a greater or lesser extent with the White Siberian government of Alexander Kolchak and with the succeeding invading forces of the Japanese Army. When the Japanese evacuated the Trans-Baikal and Amur oblasts in the spring of 1920, a political vacuum resulted.
The new Provisional Government of the Priamur attempted—with little success—to rally the various anti-Bolshevik forces to its banner. Its leaders, two Vladivostok businessmen—the brothers Spiridon Merkulov and Nikolai Merkulov found themselves left isolated when the Japanese Army announced on 24 June 1922 that it would remove all of its troops from Siberia by the end of October. A July 1922 Zemsky sobor deposed the Merkulov brothers and named a Russian general who had served with the Czechoslovak Legion, M.K. Dieterichs, as military dictator.
With the Civil War finally over, Soviet Russia absorbed the Far Eastern Republic on 15 November 1922. The government of the Far Eastern Republic dissolved itself and transferred all its authority and territory to the Bolshevik government in Moscow.

The generic focus tree has 5 main branches:
- Army Effort branch
- Gives army experience and research bonuses to army research.
- Aviation Effort branch
- Gives air experience, builds air bases, and research bonuses to air research.
- Naval Effort branch
- Gives navy experience, builds naval dockyards, and research bonuses to navy research.
- Industrial Effort branch
- Builds civilian and military factories (usually even if building slots are already full), infrastructure and grants extra research slots.
- Political Effort branch
- Gives the country choices on which political path they will take.
Far Eastern Republic does not have any national spirit.
Far Eastern Republic starts the game with 3 Research slots. As a releasable nation, when released it will inherit all technologies that the releasing nation had already researched.

The below is one of many player suggested strategies for Far Eastern Republic. Bear in mind, due to the dynamic nature of the game, it may unfold differently for other players.
Far Eastern Republic just like the other nations under the Soviet Union, can be played independently, either if the Soviet Union is Fragmented as mentioned above. With a small core population almost equal to Venezuela, possessing significant amount of oil, steel and chromium, 3 factories 1 military, 1 civilian and 1 naval factory each, Far Eastern Republic has a way for expansion, and even more that it can form Siberia.
Initially, as staying as a democratic state wont allow you to get the chance of forming Siberia under Far Eastern Republic control. Far Eastern Republic has to go fascist, being that the political popularity is the third biggest in the country besides the current Democratic government. This will give you an easy go to conquer the entirety of your neighbours, before reaching in front of the Chinese borders. Or turn communist, just like Tannu Tuva, for a decent amount of manpower generation. Declare war onto Vladivostok to gain access and way for expansion along with Chukotka.
It should be an easy go, as the North Asian nations dont have an army of its own either, and it is only a matter of time if they gain one unit or more. As the last North Asian nation is conquered, Far Eastern Republic can finally form Siberia(Greater Siberian Realm if fascist), and subsequently gaining cores on Tannu Tuva, Altai and Russian Siberia.
Tannu Tuva and Altai pose as easy targets compared to Russia. Since the latter is likely to either to declare war on you, join or start its own faction. So, invading Tannu Tuva and Altai first, also prevents dissolved Russia to annex Tannu Tuva by focus. With much land gained, Far Eastern Republic can finally concentrate its forces all the way in their west direction where Taymyria and Buryatia are and declare war on them. And, if the favours are on Greater Siberian Realm side then the Far Eastern Republic annexation will be only a matter of time. Giving a possibility to integrate the Far East, to core and then focus West to annex whats left of Russian Siberia until the push to the Urals.
